SMART RETAILING – REDEFINING GROUND RULES

One of the most interesting aspects of retailing is that while there are few basic principles of success, there are multiple ways of implementing each principle. Retail division of Eros Group, too, has successfully implemented multiple formats while maintaining the same basic principles. Eros Digital Homes are mid-size stores that are located within prominent shopping malls and on high streets. Through these shops we retail the product line that we distribute as a distributor. As on today we have 13 Eros Digital Homes across the UAE.

Our second wing of retailing consists of shop-in-shops, wherein we operate a specified section located within a high footfall mega shop. Currently we are associated with Costless Electronics and Virgin Megastores in UAE operating shop-in-shops that retail the product that we distribute. The formats do get modified with change in market dynamics and need of the catchments area but the core strength of retailing with Eros Group continues to remain the same viz.

“Assisting customers in making right decision that suits their need and budget”. As on today we are located at 20 strategic locations across UAE with over 34,000 sq ft of floor space on which over 120 trained, qualified and skilled sales team operate to reinforce the credibility of Eros Group through an unmatched customer service standards.

In early 2006 we received the prestigious membership of Dubai Service Excellence Scheme and were also recognised for our customer service practices in the industry wide survey condu- cted by 7 Days. Such practices are implemented, reinforced and controlled trough a structured training calendar, research process and reward mechanism.

“Increasing consumerism in UAE and the global shift in technology are the two key factors that has acted as a catalyst in boosting divisions revenue growth exponentially. In year 2005, the division experienced a 58 per cent growth over the previous year and in 2006 we continue to grow at an annual growth rate of over 55 per cent,” said Mr. Rahul Misra, Senior Manager, Retail Division, Eros Group.Despite of growing competition and increase in customer expectations, the division will continue to remain financially successful by serving shopper better than anyone else in the market.
